The spontaneous payment of income tax by citizens continues to increase to strengthen the national economy consistently and
accelerate the country’s development.

The sighting came today during the inaugural function of National Income Tax Day-2021 hosted by the Office of the Tax Commissioner of the District Taxation-Rangpur at its city premises.

Rangpur District Tax Commissioner Abu Hannan Delwar Hossain inaugurated the function of the day as guest of honor.

The additional tax commissioner for the Rangpur tax area Md Monjur Alam chaired the function and delivered a welcoming speech recounting the importance of the day.

Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu and Rangpur Tax Bar Association Lawyer Chairman Md Masum Khan attended the ceremony as special guests.

Deputy tax commissioners (central administration) of the tax zone-Rangpur Syed Nurul Huda, Md Raufur Rahman (technical headquarters), Kornelues Kama (circle-3) and Taz Mohammad Tarafdar (circle-13), tax inspectors, other officials and employees and journalists were present.

The speakers appreciated the various pragmatic measures taken by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to increase the number of taxpayers and allow them to easily pay income tax.

Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu thanked the income tax officers for working with a mindset shift to make citizens pay income tax hassle-free.

“The NBR has made the income tax payment system and tax assessment method easier and more realistic through modernization. As a result, revenue collection continues to increase every year,” Titu said.

The main guest said that Bangladesh is making progress on the development highway and the revenues received by the NBR play the most vital role in building a developed Bangladesh by 2041 as envisioned by the Prime Minister. Sheikh Hasina.

He said he was happy with the growing number of taxpayers this year. “The nation would be able to completely eliminate dependence on foreign aid if all large, medium and small taxpayers spontaneously paid their taxes to further strengthen the national economy,” he added. .
